Seconds To Serenity emerged in 2012 from Chicago’s alternative metal underground, forging a sound built on crushing heaviness, brooding atmosphere, and deeply introspective lyricism. Blending aggression with emotional weight, the band explores the darker corners of the human experience—grief, isolation, resilience, and self-reckoning—through music that is as confrontational as it is cathartic. Their sound has drawn comparisons to Breaking Benjamin, Starset, Motionless in White, I Prevail, Alter Bridge, Sevendust, and Three Days Grace.
The band released their debut full-length Scarlet in 2013, followed by the Learn To Fly EP/demo in 2015, before entering a prolonged hiatus that left their future uncertain.
In 2025, founding frontman Jake LoGiudice (vocals/guitar) resurrected Seconds To Serenity with Brian Benischek (guitar), Dana Goggin (bass), and Draven DC (drums). The reformed lineup delivered a darker, heavier, and more focused incarnation of the band—sharpened by time, loss, and lived experience.
Their return was marked by the singles “Bloom,” “The Void,” and “Without You,” culminating in the release of their full-length album Nexus on October 31, 2025. The album stands as a reckoning—an unfiltered examination of inner collapse and survival—cementing Seconds To Serenity as a band unafraid to turn anguish into power.
Nexus is a descent through the circles of human emotion — anger, grief, addiction, loss, and the quiet collapse that follows. Every song is tied to the next, forming a web of cause and consequence, where each moment bleeds into another. It’s a portrait of the cycle we all live in, where pain gives birth to reflection, and reflection leads us back to pain.
